So far for our Informational Writing Unit we have made a prewriting list of things we would be able to teach someone else to do. Our next lesson was to plan the steps of a "How-to" writing by first talking through the steps and then planning them with diagrams. Today's lesson was to learn the imperative (command) form of verbs and to choose an appropriate verb to go with each step (diagram). The next step will be to write the sentence that goes with each verb. (When writing instructional steps we learn to begin our sentences with a verb.)
If you are following along with our writing lessons at home and do not understand a step and would like further explanation, either leave a comment below or come to the class after school.
Today we began working on our world map which we will take home in a few days to study for a map test in Social Science.
If you keep the foldable handy (sent home today in Math), there will be questions posted here at another time which reflect the type of CCSStandard questions which students are asked on assessments and which use the numbered cards.
